Philosophy, Purpose & Process

My Philosophy of life (& coaching) is caught up in, and inseparable from, the life and person of Yeshua (Jesus).

Having said that I am not a religious man.

That might seem incongruous, however, I don't believe Yeshua (Hebrew name) was religious either.

Now I might have really done it. :D Let me explain... Yeshua was hated by the religious people.

He was/is everything they were not - alive, passionate, free and authentic.

That's my philosophy of life - to be more like Him.

Which leads me to my Purpose.

I coach to help people be the best version of themselves;

to love & live, & get up in the morning with something to look forward to;

to actually enjoy their lives!

My Process is based on extremely well researched methodology, primarily influenced by Rogers & SDT -

holistic in nature, with an emphasis on the well-being of the whole person.

I take a Solution-focused Cognitive Behavioural approach, while drawing from other coaching theorists as the need arises.

Favourites include ~

Bandura, Seligman, Prochaska, Kegan & Bachkirova.

My personal coaching style aims to keep things light, while not holding back from asking the tough questions.

Together we'll find solutions to problems that work for you, while keeping a smile on both our faces.

Methodology

My method is taught and championed by the International Coaches Federation.

The ICF hold that the client is the expert of their own lives, & so it is not a coach's job to give advice

but rather to facilitate clients coming to their own conclusions about what is best for them.

This is extremely powerful, allowing for personal, sustainable & lasting change.

The ICF describes professional coaching this way:

"... an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.

In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client's progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice.

Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future, recognizing that results are a matter of the client’s intentions, choices and actions, supported by the coach’s efforts and application of the coaching process."
